Things We Can Learn from a Dog
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. When it's in your best interest, always practice obedience. Let others know when they've invaded your territory. Take naps and always stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Be loyal Never pretend to be something you're not. (Most dogs think they're people) If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body. No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.

Dave Barry "A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down." Robert Benchley "Did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac who stays up all night wondering if there really is a Dog?" Unknown

Dereke Bruce "Of all the things I miss from veterinary practice, puppy breath is one of the most fond memories!" Dr. Tom Cat "There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." Ben Williams "Ever consider what they must think of us? I mean, here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul- chicken, pork, half a cow. They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth!" Anne Tyler "I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult." Rita Rudner

"Cat's Motto: No matter what you've done wrong, always try to make it look like the dog did it." Unknown A note about the music on this page. I was delighted when I found Roly Wright and his music. When I clicked on this MIDI file, I was magically transported back to age 5. At 11 o'clock in the mornings my mother would tune the radio to WOI AM. (there was no such thing as FM) and I would hear, "And now from WOI, Ames, Iowa, the first educationally owned station in the nation; the Childrens' Hour". (Actually it was only 15 minutes) Then you would hear a man whistling for his dog, and the rest of the music in the song. The first few notes of this MIDI are the whistling. Every week day this song would come over the airwaves. I don't remember anything else about the program, except it's theme. Who would believe that 50+ years later I would find it on the internet. Sure tells you about the power of music. A special "thanx" goes all the way around the world, to New Zealand, to Roly for allowing the use of his MIDI file and his pictures. I hope you enjoy the song as much as I. back to Angel Kitten onward More Pooches To write to the TinChicken Click on the chick Take out the words, NoSpam
