Angel Kitten

It was suppertime and the pastor went looking for his kitten. He looked and called..... called and looked. It was not long before he heard a plaintive "Mew". He looked above him, and there was the tiny little kitten in the tree.

The pastor called to the kitten but the baby was afraid to come down. The preacher tried to reach the kitten, but the closer the preacher got, the higher and further out on the limb. the kitten went.

He brought out a saucer of warm milk, still the kitty would not come down.

The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied one end of a rope to the tree, and one end to his car, he could just drive away so that the tree would bend down. Then he could reach up and grasp the kitten.

He drove his car just close enough to the tree that he could tie the rope to the car and then to the lowest branch of the tree.

The preacher got back in his car and drove slowly away, keeping an eye on the tree, as it bent lower and lower. The poor baby kitten was hanging on for dear life.

Then just as he figured that the tree was low enough for him to be able to reach the poor frightened little kitten, the rope broke! ! !

The tree went *Boing!* and the kitten instantly sailed through the air-out of sight. The pastor felt very bad. He walked all over the neighborhood, asking people if they'd seen a little kitten.

No. Nobody had seen a kitten. So he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to Your keeping," and finally, sadly, went on about his business.

A few days later, he was at the grocery store, and he met one of his church members. He noticed, in her shopping cart, were cans of cat food.

Knowing she disliked cats, he asked her, "Why are you buying cat food when you don't like them?"

She replied, "Pastor, you are not going to believe this!"

"You know how my daughter loves all animals, and especially kittens. She has been begging me for a kitten for a long time. Finally, I told her. "Well, if God gives you a kitten, you may keep it."

"I watched as she went out in the back yard and knelt to ask God for a kitten, her eyes searching the sky. Now, remember, I told you, you would not believe this...but it really happened. I saw it with my own eyes."

"As she was praying, a kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky and landed right in front of her."
